Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson announced a Camden homicide suspect who eluded authorities for several months has been captured by the U.S. Marshals Service.

Armando Perez, 19, of Camden, had been sought since September in the death of 35-year-old Jose Alvarez of Camden. He was apprehended by the Marshals on Friday morning at a residence in Easton, Pa.

The victim was found fatally shot outside the All American Gardens apartment complex on the 1900 block of Phillips Street in Camden shortly after 10:20 p.m. on September 13, 2015.

Perez is charged with first-degree murder. He is being held in Pennsylvania while awaiting extradition to New Jersey.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
