Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Voorhees Police Chief Louis Bordi reported two men have been charged for allegedly assaulting several people at a Halloween party in Voorhees.

Emirullah Sayin, 22, of Delran, and Mithat Ceylan, 22, of Delran, each face two counts of second-degree aggravated assault, two counts of third-degree aggravated assault and one count of second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.

The incident occurred late on the night of October 17 at a party attended by numerous guests in their late teens and early 20s at a residence on the unit block of Horseshoe Drive in Voorhees.  The investigation revealed Sayin and Ceylan were among a group of men in their 20s who entered the residence around 10:30 p.m. and were asked to leave.  Approximately an hour to an hour and a half later, the group of men left the party, but Sayin and Ceylan stayed behind and allegedly began punching partygoers without provocation.

The victims, a 17-year-old male from Gibbsboro, a 19-year-old Berlin man, a 20-year-old Voorhees man and a 20-year-old Voorhees woman, were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Detectives from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Voorhees Police Department were able to identity Sayin and Ceylan as the alleged attackers based on witness accounts and social media posts.

Sayin was taken into custody today in Delanco.  Ceylan surrendered November 6 to authorities at Voorhees Police headquarters.  Bail was set at $100,000 cash for each suspect.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.

Released Thursday, November 12, 2015.
