Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Cherry Hill Police Chief William Monaghan reported two men were charged following an incident involving a firearm outside a Cherry Hill bar.

Cherry Hill Police responded shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday to an altercation between numerous individuals in the parking lot of the Craft House and Beer Garden on Route 70.

While attempting to break up the fight, officers observed a female jumping on a man’s back. When officers approached them, the man, who was later identified as Daniel Allen Jr., 23, of Pennsauken, attempted to flee the area. Officers then heard a gunshot and detained Allen, who advised police that he shot himself.

Allen was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden for treatment of a gunshot wound to the lower body. He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.

Another man, Joshua Haughton, 24, of Pennsauken, was also detained after officers observed him allegedly attempting to pick up the gun off the ground. He was charged with obstruction of justice and tampering with evidence.
