Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported two separate homicides Monday night in Camden.

Camden County Police received a call at 5:59 p.m. for a gunshot victim at Haddon Avenue and Spruce Street.

Officers found the victim, Nelson Jackson, M/37, of Camden, in front of a residence in the 800 block of Haddon Avenue. He had been shot multiples times.

Jackson was taken to Cooper University Hospital and was pronounced dead at 7:16 p.m.

Police responded at 8:19 p.m. to another shooting and found Daniel Damon, M/21, of Camden, fatally shot on the 700 block of Morgan Boulevard. He was dead when police arrived at the scene.

Detectives do not believe the shootings are related. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
