Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported two men charged in connection with separate Camden homicides will be arraigned after being extradited to New Jersey.
Samuel Lopez, 18, and Jacob Llera, 20, both of Camden, are scheduled to appear before Superior Court Judge Edward J. McBride Jr. at 9 a.m. on Monday in courtroom 36.
Lopez is charged with first-degree felony murder in the death of 34-year-old Jose Franco of Camden. Franco was fatally shot during a robbery in the area of 28th Street and Pierce Avenue around 11:30 p.m. on September 27, 2015. Lopez was apprehended in December in Deltona, Florida. A co-defendant, Reymond Pagan, 29, of Camden, was previously arraigned in December.
Llera is charged with first-degree murder in the killing of 19-year-old Saadiq Coleman. He is accused of shooting Coleman multiple times in the area of Broadway and Benson Street in Camden shortly before 8:30 p.m. on September 8, 2015. Llera was arrested in September in Philadelphia.
All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
