Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson announced a man has been arrested in connection with a Camden homicide.
Tajmir Wyles, 21, of Middletown, Delaware, is scheduled to appear in court today on a first-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Nicholas Rowser of Camden.
Wyles is accused of fatally shooting Rowser on the 1100 block of Morton Street in Camden on February 7, 2016. Police had responded to the area at approximately 4 p.m. in reference to reports of a person shot. Officers located the victim near the intersection of Mount Ephraim Avenue and Morton Street and transported him to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 4:11 p.m.
After being pursued by the U.S. Marshals Service for several weeks, Wyles surrendered on Wednesday night at Camden County Police headquarters. He was remanded to the Camden County Jail and will be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. today before Superior Court Judge Edward J. McBride Jr. in courtroom 36 at the Camden County Hall of Justice.
All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
