Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Pine Hill Police Chief Christopher Winters reported a man has been charged in connection with a fatal incident that occurred Saturday, July 8, 2017.

Pine Hill Police responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls to the 1000 block of Cranford Road in Pine Hill at approximately 10:01 p.m. for a report of fight as well as an unconscious male.

When officers arrived, they located the victim, Anthony Johnson, 19, of Pine Hill, unresponsive and suffering from trauma to the head. He was flown to Cooper University Hospital for treatment. On July 10, 2017, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 3:48 p.m.

The victim’s brother, Cameron Johnson, 18, is charged with one count of Second Degree Manslaughter, in the death of 19-year-old.

Johnson’s pretrial detention hearing was this morning, July 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in courtroom 36 in front of the Honorable Judge Edward McBride. Johnson was released from the Camden County Jail with supervision in accordance with the recent Criminal Justice Reform.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
