Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson announced a Pennsauken man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Friday, December 9, 2016.
Nasir Coar, 22, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 27-year-old Amir Adams of Camden. He is scheduled to have a pretrial detention hearing at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017, before Superior Court Judge Edward McBride in courtroom 36 at the Camden County Hall of Justice.
Coar is accused of fatally shooting Amir Adams on the 700 block of Walnut Street in Camden on December 9, 2016, the day after a confrontation between the two.
He was taken into custody on January 24, 2017, and has been held at the Camden County Jail after the State filed a Motion for Pretrial Detention. Under the recent Criminal Justice Reform rules, the court may order Coar be detained without bail or released with conditions.
All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
