Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Clementon Police Chief Randall Freiling reported the parents of a child found at a borough amusement park have been located.

Clementon Police were dispatched at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Saturday to Clementon Park and Splash World for a 3-year-old girl who had been left at the park. Employees of the park had found the child and called police.

The girl was turned over to the custody of the NJ Division of Child Protection and Permanency while police sought her parents.

The child’s parents contacted police at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. They indicated they had thought the girl was staying at her grandmother’s home.

Detectives interviewed the girl’s grandmother. It was learned the girl was at the park with a group of approximately 24 people, including children and other adults. When the group exited the park, the grandmother thought the girl had left in another car.

The Prosecutor’s Office has concluded no criminal charges will be filed in this matter.

DCPP will be evaluating the girl’s well-being prior to returning the child to her parents.

Released Sunday, June 14, 2015.
