Camden, N.J. – Detectives are working to determine who fatally shot a man inside a Camden apartment Saturday night, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Joseph Wysocki.
Police were called to an apartment on the 1200 block of Chestnut St. on Dec. 26 around 8 p.m. for a reported shooting. When they arrived, they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The man was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as Darrell Matthews, 46, of Camden.
Detectives continue to investigate the events that led up to the shooting.
