Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported a homicide in the city Saturday night.

Camden County Police responded at approximately 9:03 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016, to the area of the 3300 building of the Independence Village Apartments in reference to a shot-spotter activation and 911 calls reporting gunshots in the area.

Officers arrived and located the victim, Tyrone Fooks, 32 of Camden, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at approximately 9:18 p.m.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
