Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported a man wanted for a weekend homicide in Camden is in custody.
Darrell Crone, M/31, of the 1200 block of Park Boulevard in Camden, turned himself in at the Camden County Police Department Police Administration Building about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. He is charged with Murder for the shooting death of Timothy Loper Jr. It is alleged that Crone was involved in an altercation outside 20 Horse Tavern at the intersection of 2nd and Spruce streets in Camden about 2:45 a.m. Sunday. He is accused of brandishing a firearm and firing it during the altercation. Loper, who was attempting to break up the fight, was struck and killed when the weapon was fired.
An arraignment is expected to be held tomorrow. We will provide notification when that is scheduled.
All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
