Liam Heim, 21, of Florida, was charged with kidnapping a 12-year-old juvenile girl on Thursday, March 29, 2018.

Collingswood Police responded to reports of a 12-year-old juvenile girl who had been reported missing by her parents on Thursday 29, 2018. She was last seen at school at Collingswood Middle school and was observed at the Collingswood Patco Speedline station travelling with Liam Heim at approximately 2:00 p.m.

During the investigation, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit, Philadelphia Police Airport Unit and the Collingswood Police department located the missing juvenile girl and Liam Heim in a hotel located on Bartram Avenue in Philadelphia on March 30, 2018.

Liam Heim was charged with one count of first degree Kidnapping and one count of third degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, according to Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Collingswood Police Chief Kevin Carey.

Liam Heim was also charged by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Philadelphia with 18 USC 2423(a) – Transportation of Minor to Engage in Criminal Sexual Activity and 18 USC 2423(b) – Interstate Travel to Engage in Illicit Sexual Conduct.

Heim was arrested without incident and is being held on pending Federal Charges at the Federal Detention Center awaiting federal first appearance on Monday and a detention hearing tentatively scheduled for Thursday.

This investigation is being worked jointly by the Philadelphia Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force operated out of the Philadelphia Police Department Special Victims Unit.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
