Shomari Kinard, 37, of Camden, was charged with shooting and killing Nuquan Reddick on the evening of May 10, 2018.

When Camden County Police responded to the 1100 block of Morton Street they found Nuquan Reddick had been shot multiple times. He was rushed to Cooper University Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and remained hospitalized until he died on July 10, 2018.

Detectives obtained high definition surveillance video which captured the shooting, as well as the suspect. The video shows the suspect waiting for Mr. Riddick. The suspect is then seen running up to the victim and firing several times. Authorities were eventually able to identify Kinard as the shooter.

Shomari Kinard was charged with first degree Murder on July 15, 2018 according to Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson.

Shomari Kinard was taken into custody at 9th and Cherry Street in Camden this afternoon by the Camden County Police Department’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Task Force after a brief foot pursuit. He was remanded to Camden County Jail pending a pretrial detention hearing. Under Criminal Justice Reform rules, the court may order he be detained or released with conditions.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
