Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported a man sought for a June killing in Camden has been arrested.

Daryl Demby, M/25, of Camden, was arrested during a traffic stop in Ocean City around 2 a.m. Tuesday. Demby was wanted on a charge of Murder and Attempted Murder for the killing of De’quan Rogers, M/20, on June 24, 2013.

Superior Court Judge Lee Solomon ordered Demby held on $2 million bail in a hearing Tuesday.

One man, Jamal Brown, M/24, of Camden, has already been charged and arrested in connection with Rogers’ killing. Brown is charged with Murder and Attempted Murder and is being held at the Camden County Jail on $2 million bail.

It is alleged Demby and Brown opened fire on Rogers and another man as they sat on a porch on the 1000 block of Morton Street around 11:25 p.m. Rogers was struck in the head and died at the scene. The other man, a Camden 19-year-old, was struck multiple times but survived his injuries.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
