Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported a man has been charged in a recent city homicide.

Gustavo Jimenez, 20, of Camden, was arraigned Friday in Superior Court on a Murder charge in the killing of 21-year-old Karen Ramirez of Camden.

Jimenez is accused of shooting Ramirez multiple times around 2:30 p.m. Monday on the 300 block of Grant Street in Camden. The shooting occurred during a brief physical altercation between Jimenez and Ramirez. Several witnesses reported the two had been arguing about the proceeds from the sale of a motorcycle.

Jimenez surrendered himself to law enforcement officers Wednesday at a Pennsauken business.

Superior Court Judge Edward McBride set bail at $1 million cash or bond.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
