Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Gloucester City Police Chief Brian Morrell reported a Manahawkin man has been arraigned in the death of a 2-year-old Gloucester girl that occurred on Tuesday (July 5, 2016) in Gloucester City.

Superior Court Judge John T. Kelley ordered Michael Disporto Jr., 22, held on $1,500,000 bail Friday afternoon for the murder of the child. Disporto was also charged with committing a first-degree aggravated sexual assault on the same child.

According to a probable cause statement issued by Assistant Prosecutor Christine Shah, Disporto was the boyfriend of the victim’s mother, Amber Bobo, 26, of Gloucester. Bobo was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

On Sunday, July 3, a 911 call was made at approximately 6:04 p.m. and an ambulance responded to the 100 block of S. King Street in Gloucester City. The victim was transported by ambulance to Cooper University Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at approximately 6:26 p.m. on July 5, 2016.
