Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo reported the indictment of a Camden man in connection with a killing at the now-defunct 20 Horse Tavern restaurant in 2013.
A Grand Jury indicted Darrell Crone, M/32, of the 1200 block of Park Boulevard in Camden, Wednesday on counts of Murder, Attempted Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Certain Persons not to Possess a Weapon.
Crone is charged with the shooting death of 27-year-old Clementon man Timothy Loper Jr. It is alleged that Crone was involved in an altercation outside 20 Horse Tavern at the intersection of 2nd and Spruce streets in Camden in the pre-dawn hours on December 1, 2013. He is accused of brandishing a firearm and firing it during the altercation. Loper, who was attempting to break up the fight, was struck and killed when the weapon was fired.
All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
