Camden, N.J. – Detectives are investigating an early morning fatal shooting in Camden, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.
Police responded to the area of Kaighn Ave. and Rose St. for a multi round ShotSpotter activation around 3:30 a.m. When they arrived, they located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as Thomas Smith, 67, of Camden.
Detectives continue to investigate the events that led up to the shooting.
