Description

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking a talented and professional Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) to create and cultivate partnerships throughout the county and to strengthen the relationship and continue to build trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve. The newly-created CEC position will be responsible for planning meetings with internal Units, municipal law enforcement agencies, and various community organizations to identify areas of need in Camden County. Upon identifying areas of need, education, or partnership opportunities, the CEC will work to create solutions such as plan community events, educational programs, and outreach initiatives. The CEC will work closely with the Public Information Officer (PIO) to proactively and effectively promote, communicate, and educate the Camden County community on the various initiatives that are developed as well as existing services that are available. Duties may also include providing on-camera interviews detailing work being done within the Community Outreach Unit, scheduling social media outreach surrounding events and offerings, designing flyers, pamphlets, and presentations, updating the CCPO website, creating and maintaining an up-to-date list of community contacts, writing proposals and applying for grants, and collecting feedback on various events to use for future planning.

 

Requirements

Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience in event or program planning, coordination, and implementation.

Residency: The Community Engagement Coordinator must reside in the state of New Jersey within 365 days of the date of hire.

 

Preferences

  • Established working relationships with Camden County stakeholders, faith leaders, law enforcement entities, schools, and outreach organizations
  • Experience in writing grants, working with non-profit organizations, and fund-raising
  • Strong writing, communication, and public speaking skills
  • Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin and YouTube
  • Currently resides in or has recently resided in Camden County
