Camden, N.J. – A Collingswood man has been charged after detectives found child pornography on one of his social media accounts, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill Mayer and Collingswood Police Chief Kevin Carey.
William Salcito, 30, of Collingswood, has been charged with one count of possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography.
Detectives from the High-Tech Crimes Unit (HTCU), Collingswood Police Department, Camden County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) – Cherry Hill Office and New Jersey State Police executed a search warrant on East Knight Avenue Feb. 7.
NJSP Patrol/Electronic Storage Detection K-9, named Ice, located a cell phone in Salcito’s room that detectives later confirmed to have more images and also evidence that Salcito distributed those images.
Salcito was taken to the Collingswood Police Department where he was processed and released under conditions pending further court proceedings.
All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
