Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Gloucester Township Chief Harry Earle reported a Clementon man has been arrested and charged Tuesday, August 15, 2017, with manufacturing child pornography.
Richard Gill Jr., a 21-year-old Clementon resident, has been charged with one count of first degree Manufacture of Child Pornography and one count of third degree Possession of Child Pornography.
He was charged after Detectives from the High Tech Crimes Unit (HTCU) of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office executed a search warrant this morning at his residence on Rainbow Place in Clementon. Gill had been exchanging nude photographs with a juvenile female, with whom he’d been corresponding with over the internet.
Devices that were seized from the home were sent to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office’s HTCU Forensic lab to be further analyzed.
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office HTCU Detectives were assisted on this case by members of Homeland Security Investigations – Cherry Hill Division, the Gloucester City Police Department, Gloucester Township Police Department and the Gloucester Township Special Response Team (SRT).
Gill was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending Centralized First Appearance and the following pretrial detention hearing in accordance with the New Jersey Bail Reform. Under the recent Criminal Justice Reform rules, the court may order Gill be detained without bail or released with conditions.
All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
