Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo announced a Clementon man was arrested and charged Thursday, September 1, 2016, with possession and distribution of child pornography.
Members of the Camden County Prosecutor Office High Tech Crimes unit with assistance from the Gloucester Township Police Department SRT executed a search warrant at a residence on Woodmill Drive in Clementon at 5:30 a.m. Interviews with the homeowners convinced detectives that the residents of the targeted house were not involved. It turns out that the targeted homeowner’s Wi-Fi was not password protected and was being pirated by a neighbor, Louis LaSalle, 55, of Woodmill Drive.
Further investigation revealed that Louis LaSalle was downloading and distributing child pornography in the form of photographic images and videos by connecting his laptop computer to his neighbor’s unprotected Wi-Fi. Investigators removed over 33,000 pornographic images and over 700 pornographic videos from the laptop confiscated from LaSalle’s residence. Also confiscated by detectives was a wireless router that LaSalle used to connect to his neighbor’s Wi-Fi.
LaSalle, is charged with 3th-degree possession and 2nd-degree distribution of child pornography.
He was remanded to the Camden County Jail on $150,000 full cash bail.
All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Released Monday, September 12, 2016.
