Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson announced a Camden man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred over the weekend.

Jerry Reyes, 29, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 28-year-old Luis A. Feliu of Camden.  He is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday before Superior Court Judge John T. Kelley in courtroom 42 at the Camden County Hall of Justice.

Reyes is accused of fatally shooting Feliu during an altercation on the 1000 block of Haddon Avenue in Camden on Saturday.  Camden County Police responded to the area at approximately 5:20 p.m. in reference to a report of a fight as well as a ShotSpotter activation for multiple gunshots.  Officers located the Feliu lying on the sidewalk near the corner of Haddon Avenue and Mount Vernon Street. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 5:44 p.m. on Saturday.

Reyes was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force – Camden Division at approximately noon today as he was exiting a residence in Willingboro.  He was remanded to the Camden County Jail.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
