Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported a city man has been arraigned in the fatal shooting that occurred June 29, 2016 in Camden.

Superior Court Judge John T. Kelley ordered Tashad Henry, 22, held on $1,500,000 cash or bond bail Friday afternoon in the death of 48-year-old Walter Davis of Camden.

According to a probable cause statement issued by assistant prosecutor Kevin Moran, Henry is accused of fatally shooting Davis on the 300 block of Sycamore Street in Camden.

Camden County Police responded to the area at approximately 11:18 p.m. in reference to a 911 call. Officers arrived and located the victim suffering from gunshot wounds lying on the ground. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at approximately 11:28 p.m.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.  A second suspect is still being sought in connection with this homicide.
