Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo reported that on January 12, 2018, a 33-year-old off duty Chesilhurst police officer was arrested after a car stop in Lindenwold, New Jersey. At the time of his arrest he was in possession of over an ounce of marijuana and a firearm. Also in his car at the time of the incident were his 3 young children.
Robert Williams, of Maple Shade, has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) with Intent to Distribute (third degree), Possession of a Weapon during a CDS offense (second degree), three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (second degree) and Official Misconduct (second degree).
Williams has been remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility and is awaiting a court appearance on Sunday, January 14, 2018.
All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
