Camden N.J. – This week, five Camden County Prosecutor’s Office staff members participated in the Police Unity Tour, a three-day, multi-state bike ride that honors law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.
CCPO Captain John Hunsinger, Agent Bob English and Detectives Joe Gurcik, Jenna Bindig and Marcelle LaCroix rode their bikes from Longport, New Jersey to the National Law Enforcement Monument in Washington, D.C as part of “Team Camden County.”
They rode in honor of CCPO Investigator John “Jack” McLaughlin and Haddon Heights Patrolman John Norcross, who were both shot and killed in the line of duty in April of 1995.
Detective Gurcik formed “Team Camden County” five years ago. Camden County Sheriff’s Officers Bob Plews, Scot Mennel and Jake Sidwa are also part of the team.
This year marked the 25th anniversary of the Police Unity Tour. According to the Police Unity Tour website, more than $30 million raised from this event has been donated to the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund since its inception in 1997.
