Camden, N.J.– Welcome to the team! The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office has hired a new detective who was sworn-in to his position on Monday, August 1, 2022, announced Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay.

Detective Tyrell Powell was sworn-in by Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay, before his family, CCPO First Assistant Prosecutor Timothy Chatten, Chief of Detectives Robert Ferris, Deputy Chief of Detectives Terry King and Chief of Staff Michael Mangold.

Detective Powell is assigned to the Grand Jury Unit.

Detective Powell has previously served as a police officer at the Delaware River Port Authority Police Department. Since 2012, Detective Powell has served in the U.S. Army NJ National Guard and is currently serving as an Infantryman/Field Artillery Officer. He is a graduate of Rowan University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Justice. Detective Powell is currently enrolled at Rutgers-Camden University in the Master of Business Administration program.
