Today, Amanda Ramirez, 27, of Camden, plead guilty to second-degree Manslaughter for stabbing her twin sister, Anna Ramirez, 27, also from Camden.

On Saturday, June 22, 2019, the Camden County Police department was dispatched to the Centennial Village apartment complex on the 1200 block of East State Street just after 5:30 a.m. to reports of a woman who was stabbed. When police arrived, they found Amanda Ramirez outside of her apartment, and Anna Ramirez laying on the ground, injured and unconscious. She was taken to Cooper University Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.

During the investigation, authorities were able to determine that Amanda Ramirez stabbed her sister during an altercation.

Amanda Ramirez plead guilty to the second-degree charge of Manslaughter. There is no agreed-upon recommendation for the sentence. This charge carries a potential sentence of up to ten years in New Jersey State Prison. The exact length of her sentence will be determined by the Honorable Judge Edward J. McBride during her sentencing hearing, which is scheduled for November 15, 2019.
