Camden Man Convicted for 2016 Homicide – February 5, 2018
A jury found Allen Reed, 43, guilty on Thursday, February 1, 2018, of first degree Felony Murder in the death of 43-year-old Edwin Davis of Camden. Reed was also found guilty of first degree Murder, first degree Armed Robbery, second degree Unlawful Possession of Weapons, second degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose and fourth degree Possession of Hollow Nose Bullets.
At the trial, Assistant Prosecutor David Deitz presented evidence that Reed had been dropped off in the area of the 2000 block of Morgan Boulevard on the morning of May 3, 2016. Allen Reed shot Edwin Davis once in the chest in an attempt to rob him and then waited for a ride to come pick him up. Edwin Davis died at the scene.
Allen Reed, who faces the possibility of a minimum of 30 years to a maximum of Life in New Jersey State prison, is scheduled to be sentenced before the Honorable Kathleen Delaney on March 16, 2018.
