Camden, N.J. – A Camden man has been arrested on charges related to an April 6 homicide, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.
Kyree Johnson, 30, of Camden, has been charged with one count of first-degree Murder and one count of Absconding Parole.
Police were called to the 1200 block of Lakeshore Drive in Camden on April 6 for a report of a shooting shortly after 4 p.m.
When they arrived, they found a man in a car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was identified as Lamar Maye, 46, of Camden. Maye was transported to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Through the investigation, Johnson was identified as the alleged shooter. Johnson was located in Atlantic City and taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force – Camden Division on April 21.
Johnson was taken to the Camden County Detention Facility and is awaiting a detention hearing.
All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
