Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported a Camden man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday, April 23, 2017.
Jose Guadalupe, 32, is charged with one (1) count of First Degree Murder in the death of 33-year-old Robert Castellano III of Camden. He is scheduled to have a pretrial detention hearing at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 before Superior Court Judge Edward McBride. in courtroom 36 at the Camden County Hall of Justice.
Guadalupe is accused of fatally shooting Robert Castellano in his car. Responding officers found Robert Castellano in his vehicle on the 1200 block of North 18th Street in Camden at approximately 6:53 p.m.
Guadalupe was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force – Camden Division, at approximately 10:45 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017 in the area of Wheatland Court in Camden.
He was remanded to County Jail pending the pretrial detention hearing in accordance with the New Jersey Bail Reform. Under the recent Criminal Justice Reform rules, the court may order Guadalupe be detained without bail or released with conditions.
All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
