Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported one was killed and two others injured in a Monday night fight that escalated to gunfire.

Maylen Colon, F/21, of Camden, was shot at 10:51 p.m. on the 1400 block of 10th Street in Camden Monday. She died at the scene. Another shooting victim, a 26-year-old Camden man, was also struck by gunfire and is in critical but stable condition at Cooper Hospital.

A third man, a 23-year-old Camden resident, was struck by a blunt object in the head during the fight that led to the shooting.

It is believed the shooting began with an altercation in the area and when the fight ended, one of the participants left and returned with a handgun.

No charges have been filed at this time but an investigation is underway.
