Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Oaklyn Police Chief Mark Moore reported the identity and autopsy results for a man found dead in a borough creek yesterday.

The man has been identified as Marcus Fennell, 31, of Bridgeton.  His body was discovered by fishermen around 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday in the Newton Creek near the White Horse Pike in Oaklyn.

An autopsy was conducted today and the medical examiner ruled the cause of Fennell’s death to be drowning.  The manner of death is undetermined pending further investigation and toxicology testing.

Preliminary findings indicate that Fennell’s death does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
