Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported the autopsy results in the death of a man found in a burning vehicle yesterday in Camden.

The Camden City Fire Department responded at approximately 1:14 p.m. on Thursday to 911 calls about a burning mini-van in the area of the 2100 block of Miller Street in Camden.

Firefighters observed a deceased male in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and notified police. Detectives from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Camden County Police Department responded and processed the scene.

An autopsy was conducted today and the medical examiner ruled the cause of death to be from the adverse effect of drugs and the manner of death to be accidental. Preliminary findings indicate that the man was a 23-year-old Marlton resident. Detectives are awaiting the results of DNA testing to confirm the identity.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.
