Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Lindenwold Police Chief Thomas Brennan reported Monday an arrest in a hit and run that took place this weekend.
Edward J. Russell, M/58, of Clayton, was arrested at his home at 1 a.m. Monday on a charge of Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident with Serious Bodily Injury. He was released with a summons. Russell was charged after police received an anonymous tip identifying him as the driver in a hit and run.
Russell is accused of striking a 57-year-old man with his Ford F150 pickup truck about 10:30 p.m. Saturday on the 100 block of the S. White Horse Pike. It is alleged he slowed briefly, then continued driving west on the White Horse Pike.
The victim, a Lindenwold man, is being treated at Cooper Hospital and is in stable condition.
All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
