Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk and Gloucester Township Police Chief Harry Earle reported an Edgewater Park teenager has been arrested and charged with a killing in the township Monday.

The Edgewater Park 16-year-old is charged with Murder, Felony Murder and Attempted Murder. He was ordered held at the Camden County Juvenile Detention Center in a hearing Wednesday morning.

The 16-year-old was arrested Tuesday night in Edgewater Park. He was in possession of a handgun when taken into custody.

It is alleged the 16-year-old shot Lamar Ortiz, M/20, of the Autumn Ridge Apartments on the 1500 block of Little Gloucester Road in Gloucester Township, multiple times in the apartment complex’s parking lot shortly before 9:30 p.m. Monday. Ortiz was taken to JFK Hospital Stratford and pronounced there at 10:35 p.m.

An 18-year-old male from Marlton who arrived at the apartment complex with the 16-year-old was also struck. He suffered a minor graze wound to the head.
