Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk and Camden Police Chief Scott Thomson reported an arrest in a February homicide in the city.

A 17-year-old Camden male was arrested Friday and charged with Murder, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in the February 28, 2013 shooting of Antonio Barge. Barge, M/25, was shot multiple times on the 1200 block of Chase Street. The juvenile was 16 at the time of the killing. His age prohibits this office from releasing his identity at this time.

The Camden teenager was first identified as a possible suspect in the shooting a day after Barge died. Detectives in the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit conducted interviews with numerous witnesses and acquaintances of the juvenile over more than seven months to confirm information received in the wake of the killing and gather evidence to warrant a charge of Murder.

The juvenile was arrested in Camden Friday afternoon and was charged that night. At a detention hearing Monday the juvenile was ordered held at the Camden County Youth Detention Center.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
