Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden Police Chief Scott Thomson reported an arrest in the 2012 fatal stabbing of a Camden woman.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force – Camden Division coordinated the arrest of Tino Cruz, M/32, of Camden. He was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon at a friend’s home in Jacksonville, Fla without incident. Arrangements are underway to transport him to New Jersey.

Cruz is charged with Murder in the killing of Georgianna Jedrzejewski, F/55, of Camden. She was stabbed to death on the 800 block of Tulip Street in Camden on December 10, 2012. The recently formed Camden County Police Cold Case Unit was instrumental in identifying witnesses who described Cruz stabbing Jedrzejewski. That allowed a Murder charge to be filed against Cruz in June. The warrant was then presented to the U.S. Marshals, who led the effort to track the fugitive.

Members of the cold case unit will be available to discuss the investigation and the unit at 1 p.m. at the Camden County Police Department Administration Building.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
